ChatGPT vs. Human Writing: Spot the Difference

5 giveaways that scream "AI-generated" and how to fix them.

Have you ever read a sentence and immediately knew a bot wrote it? You aren't alone. ChatGPT has a very specific "accent." Here are the 5 signs.

1. The "In Conclusion" Trap

ChatGPT loves to summarize. Almost every essay ends with "In conclusion," "To summarize," or "Ultimately." Humans rarely write this way in casual or semi-formal content.

2. Lack of Opinion

AI is designed to be neutral. It will often say "It is important to note..." rather than "I think..." or "The truth is..."

3. Perfect Grammar (Too Perfect)

Humans make mistakes. We use sentence fragments. We start sentences with "And" or "But." AI writes in complete, grammatically perfect sentences 100% of the time. This perfection is actually a flaw when trying to sound human.

4. Repetitive Sentence Structure

AI often follows a Subject-Verb-Object pattern. "The cat sat on the mat. The dog barked at the cat." Humans vary it: "Sitting on the mat, the cat ignored the barking dog."

5. The "Tapestry" of Cliches

As mentioned in our other guides, AI overuses metaphors like "tapestry," "symphony," and "journey." Removing these is the easiest win.
